The congregation of the sisters of the Apostolic Carmel, running Mount Carmel School, Gandhidham, is an Indian Congregation, founded in 1870 by Mother Veronica, a holy and dedicated woman, who was divinely inspired to reach out to the girls of our country. Mount Carmel, Gandhidham is an off-shoot of Mount Carmel Ahmedabad, a minority institution. It was at the earnest request of the people of Gandhidham and its surroundings, that we at great cost started an English medium school in June 1966. The school is recognized by the Department of Education, Gujarat State and prepares the students for the Secondary and Higher Secondary School Certificate Examination. Today, the Sisters cater to the needs of Children, in primary, Secondary and Higher Secondary Schools, Technical Schools, Teacher Training Institutions, Degree Colleges, Hospitals, Creches, Children’s Homes, Hostels, Boarding Houses and Social Centresin Rural and Urban Areas in India, Sri Lanka, Kuwait, Pakistan, Rome, Africa, Bahrain, France and Italy.
